Azerbaijani students will learn how to develop a startup business by participating in the Discover Europe programme organised by Turan Trade in collaboration with Startup Campus, InnoHub Europe and Azerbaijan Innovation Agency. A special partner of the programme is the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, and the project is sponsored by bp in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani students can apply to the programme where they will learn how to turn their business idea into a startup that has the potential to become an international success story. Through 12 workshops participants will gain basic business knowledge and a global perspective, as well as valuable connections in the European start-up ecosystem.
Launching in March, the second phase of the programme focusing on students is a continuation of the Discover Europe business development programme, which first took place between September and December of the year 2021 and focused on young entrepreneurs with established businesses.
“Discover Europe is uniquely educational and entrepreneurship development initiative, which offers participants a first-hand experience to learn and prepare for the successful start-up development in one of the World’s largest markets next to Azerbaijan. This programme offers not only exposure to experienced business practitioners and innovation programmes across Western and Central Europe, but also provides an opportunity for participants to engage with successful business counterparts and get knowledge of the European innovation ecosystem and business environment”
– says Ibrahim Ismayilov, Managing Director of the Turan Trade LLC.
During the 8-week programme, the students will learn the phases of the start-up life cycle, how to validate their business idea, how to build an international market entry strategy, and expand their network of mentors, experts, investors, and start-ups participating in the programme. The online training will end with a Demo Day and a Study Tour to Europe. The long-term goal of the programme is to build a link between the Azerbaijani and European ecosystems, thereby encouraging the best start-ups, once they are ready to scale internationally.
